I have a horse now in Texas that has an abscess to the right of his penis. It has been diagnosed as Pigeon Fever. I see this article was written in 2009. What have you found seen then. Was more research done as you indicated. The ozone treatment sounds pretty wonderful . Can you tell me more??

Re: The basis of commercial pet foods – the 4D’s

I have just begun producing made-to-order, natural, kosher dog food. However, if the horse has ever been vaccinated for it, (most vaccinated horses have been) then I wouldn't assume that to be the problem. Limping alone is not a accurate sign of tetanus. Although it is likely that you have an infected hoof. In this case I would have your farrier come out and clear the frog and re-open the wound. Flush it out extremely well with grapefruit seed extract (GSE) in hot water (60 drops per 316 oz of water) and then pack it with bentonite clay to draw out the infection. Cover the clean hoof and clay with a boot or duct tape and allow to draw. After 2 -3 hours clean out the hoof again and put Recovazon (if you have it) directly into the hole (for pain) then fill with straight GSE. Keep covered and repeat daily till healed. If you don't see a rapid improvent (2 - 3 days), have the vet back out.

Re: Treating a sore hoof

My sister's horse recently had a nail stuck in her hoof... after treating it and having a vet out it became better and we moved on, well that was about a week ago.
